Support the First $500 Community Award
Help Fund the BDB Next Step Award
The BDB Next Step Award is a community-funded $500 award created to help a Black or other minority student, entrepreneur, or first-generation wealth builder take a meaningful next step. That next step may be: Paying for school or training, purchasing business supplies, covering a certification or application fee, investing in a professional opportunity, or supporting a financial or career-building goal. Black Dollar Blueprintâ„¢ sets aside 5% of product sales to help fund the award. You can support the award in two ways: Make a direct support contribution or shop BDB resources, with 5% of product sales added to the award fund.

How the BDB Next Step Award Works
01
Step 1 – The Community Builds the Fund
Black Dollar Blueprintâ„¢ contributes 5% of product sales, and supporters can make direct contributions.
02
Step 2 – The Fund Reaches $500
Applications open once the first $500 award is fully funded.
03
Step 3 – Applicants Submit Their Next Step
Applicants complete the official application and explain how the award would support their education, business, financial, or career goal.
04
Step 4 – Applications Are Reviewed
A review panel evaluates eligible applications based on the published rules and selection criteria.
05
Step 5 – One Recipient Is Selected
The selected recipient receives the $500 BDB Next Step Award.
